Cecil joined GPS in 2021 as Group Chief Operating Officer and is responsible for the company’s global operations and implementations divisions, powering the next generation of payments worldwide.
Cecil has more than 20 years’ financial services and management consulting experience and specialises in operational and digital transformation, corporate restructuring, and business strategy within the retail banking, fintech, and wealth management sectors.
Based in London, Cecil is responsible for the paytech pioneer’s global operations and implementations divisions, powering the next generation of payments worldwide.
Prior to GPS, Cecil held a number of senior roles at HSBC during his seven-year tenure, leading large multi-national business performance teams within the global bank’s Retail Banking and Wealth Management arm, which comprised over 20,000 people in total. His deep understanding of omni-channel customer journey design, coupled with process re-engineering capabilities, led to the launch of HSBC’s online mortgage channel.
He also spent almost three years advising a UK challenger bank start-up on developing its operating model, whilst building out all aspects of its banking operations including customer contact, middle office functions, back office and payments include agency bank and SWIFT. Before joining HSBC in 2008, Cecil worked at Accenture and Flagstone.
Cecil sits on GPS’ Executive Committee and is a vocal advocate for diversity, equality and inclusion in all guises. He sits on GPS’ Global Diversity, Equality and Inclusion Council, chairs GPS racial equality
employee resource group known as Embrace and is deputy chair of the firm’s Women in Tech network (WiTNESS).
Cecil holds an MBA from Cambridge Judge Business School and a Bachelors’ degree in Management, Business Administration and Management from Royal Holloway London.
