Speaker Q&A
Where are the industry challenges & pain points in the Payments area? How can these be overcome?
Offering new digital payment alternatives to consumers with the right level of friction and the right level of payment protection. On friction, variability based on use case and consumer configurability are important. On payment protection, striking a balance between cost and use case is key. Consumer choice should also pay a part.
If we could grant you three wishes, what would they be?
– Extending allowed use cases for Open Banking VRP beyond sweeping, alongside a sensible commercial model which is competitive with debit card.
– A New Payments Architecture delivered soon that can compete with card based market infrastructures because of its functional richness and commercial attractiveness.
– Three more wishes.
